Amazing Universe takes travellers on a journey from the Hooper’s inlet on the Otago Peninsula to the edges of the universe to explore some of the most wondrous astronomical sights humanity has discovered.
Enjoy a special live astronomy show in the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium and learn about Chinese astronomy before ringing in the Year of the Rat. Chinese astronomy has a long history, beginning from the Chinese Bronze age known as the Shang Dynasty. This is a great chance to learn about astronomy and eastern practices that date back many thousands of years from a completely different perspective to what you’d normally see in Dunedin. This show will be approximately 45 minutes long. Admittance to planetarium is restricted to ages 3 and up. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
