Ichika Hoshino, who heard a song by Hatsune Miku that she had never heard before at a CD shop, meets the eye of a Miku that she has never seen before on the monitor, but Miku disappears shortly after. Later, after finishing a street performance, Miku, whom she had seen before, appears on Ichika’s smartphone. Miku is trying to deliver her songs to the "owners of her feelings", but she is worried that no matter how much she sings, she will not reach them. At that time, she saw Ichika delivering her songs to the hearts of many people at a live performance, and thought that if she knew about her, she would be able to deliver her songs to them too. Ichika decides to deliver songs to her friends in order to fulfill Miku’s wish. The Raccoons of the Tama Hills are being forced from their homes by rapid urbanization. As it becomes harder to find food and shelter, they decide to band together and fight back. Once they perfect the ancient art of transformation, they use their power, often in hilarious ways, to try to scare off the advancement of civilization. Will it be enough? Taking its cues from traditional folklore, POM POKO is a fun, sweet, and mischievous film, but nonetheless carries a strong environmental/urban overdevelopment issue that is as relevant today as it ever was.

The most cunning and skilled of these pilots is Porco Rosso, a man cursed with the head of a pig. He now makes a living taking jobs, such as rescuing those kidnapped by air pirates. Donald Curtis, Porco’s rival in the air and in catching the affections of women, provides a constant challenge to the hero, culminating in a hilarious, action packed finale. A rollicking adventure, set to a Mediterranean backdrop and replete with beautifully orchestrated dogfights – Hayao Miyazaki offers up perhaps his most blockbuster-esque feature in PORCO ROSSO… But even still, manages to retain all the heart and magic of classic Ghibli.

A beautifully realized tale of civilization versus nature, PRINCESS MONONOKE is a true epic by Japan’s master animator Hayao Miyazaki. Japanese with English subtitles. While protecting his village from a rampaging boar-god, the young warrior Ashitaka becomes afflicted with a deadly curse. To find the cure that will save his life, he journeys deep into sacred depths of the Great Forest Spirit’s realm where he meets San (Princess Mononoke), a girl raised by wolves. It’s not long before Ashitaka is caught in the middle of a battle between iron-ore prospecting humans and the forest dwellers. He must summon the spirit-powers and all his courage to stop man and nature from destroying each other. One of Miyazaki’s most dark and mature films, and certainly violent, PRINCESS MONONOKE is a fantasy epic with a dire environmental message. The end result is almost Kurosawa-esque in story and structure. Whilst initial box-office was poor in the West, eventually became Studio Ghibli’s breakthrough film off the back of home video sales.
